What is Bullying?
Bullying can be name calling, demanding money, hitting, kicking or making racist remarks.
Bullying is deliberately hurting or threatening someone else.
What can I do if I am being bullied?
Ask the bully to stop! Say "I do not like you doing that" and move away from the bully. If this does not make any difference, tell someone!
This can be a friend, dad or mum, teacher or someone you know. If you have a social worker you can tell them or a foster carer.
What will they do?
They will try and help you and make sure the bullying stops. If you feel that nothing has happened tell someone else. It's important to let someone know so something can be done.
What do some young people say?
"I used to be bullied until I told a teacher and then it got sorted."
"Take action - you're never the only victim, support each other."
"People try to sort it out themselves and hope the bullies go away."
"Try to ignore the namecallers and don't show that you are upset so they'll get bored and leave you alone."
If you see someone being bullied...
